The Men That I Loved, Dissappointed Me.

Dear Diary,

Happy new month, and happy April Fools Day! I hope you have been well, am OK a lot has happened but its life don't you think so. Well I know so. Let me tell you the story of my life.

It is now a while since I knew him.It was the best thing ever and I even wondered what I have been doing all this time resisting his moves. He was so sweet to me, he was generous to me, very caring, very mindful, always sensitive and loving. I loved his company, he always picked me up from work, he would stop by and we would have some tea in the car as we chat away the evening. Every time he came to pick me he would buy me something, always a surprise. Life was so good what else could I ask for from my better half?

I always have nostalgia thinking about him, the good uncountable moments we had together, the memories are forever indebted in my heart. I swore by my heart never to date any other after him, I mean he was every thing.

But now, am not sure any more! Diary, I would like to know should couples in relationship talk about rights? Like are there any human rights considerations when one is in a relationship? For a married couple I would understand about the conjugal rights but, a dating couple are they justified as well? I don't know. OK my stand is ALL women in relationships should never beg men for anything whatsoever, be it financial stability, socially speaking, or even mentally. Hey come on my fellow women, we can do better than this.

Yes, its true that this world has been dominated by men from time immemorial but that was then, this is now, the 21st century, the times of Joyce Banda of Malawi and Ellen Johnson of Liberia presidents in their respective countries, the times when mini-skirt has been banned in our neighboring country Uganda, the time when Kenya has the cabinet secretary for defense as a woman, this time here where we are talking about girl child and women empowerment. Lets come out and show the world that we are not the weaker sex, the P square sung and said what a man can do a woman can do better. We can stand and prove them right, yes we can.

I highly respect men in our society, yes its true that sometimes they make the world go round but again I don't value them highly. I feel like this world would be a better place to live if women had ruled from years back. But that notwithstanding, dear men this is for you, we women need to be treated equally just like your fellow men. We were born with abilities and brains just like the men. Stop referring to women as sex objects, stop killing our women's dreams by making them house wive, support their dreams stop killing them.

Ill always fight for the rights of women in the society. It is high time that the male gender accept that women are equally important in the society. The men better get used to the idea that women are here to stay and soon we will take over their position if you don't watch out. And when that happens, there will be NO mercy to any male species that intimidate women. Men deserve no pity or mercies at all, not today, never in the history.

Signed, sealed and delivered,
By,
Lisa Biwott.
