Happy Belated Valentines!

Dear Diary,

Happy Valentines! How are you doing? How has your week been? Long time, I missed you. A lot has happened but ill share with you don't be worried.

During the week, Arsenal had a game with Manchester United, after the previous night with Chelsea being forced to a draw of 1-1 with Westbrom, I had thought it was a good opportunity for us the Gunners to go back on top of the the table. Shock on me! We also drew with Man United, a goal less draw and now we remain in position two, and since Man City has a game in hand they might push Arsenal to position three if they win. But well the Arsenal manager always says, if you cant win don't loose and so we will focus on our next game against Liverpool on Sunday. Its an FA cup qualifying game and Gunners going into the game with a one week nightmare of Liverpool thrashing of five one defeat, there is only one thing, we are going on a revenge mission, not just to win the game but to show Liverpool how the beautiful game of soccer is played in Emirates stadium. So help us God.

Diary, something else happened this week! Please don't get bored, its something about one of my customers at work. This time I was not told I am annoying at least someone appreciated the help I offered! Apparently barely a few days after a lady customer called and said I was annoying more than KPLC, a different customer called and after the service said something different...! This is what happened.

Samsung we had a promotional offer for our customers during this year's valentine, it included note 10.1 2014 Edition, note 3 and a gear for this, one would get a romantic dinner for two or a purchase of galaxy core duos or s duos you get a shopping voucher. OK now this customer (Indian guy) called wanting to buy a note 3, mind you it goes for around 100 K (note + gear). The call was good and I believe the customer was really happy as he requested to speak to my supervisor, I transferred the call as requested and guess what?! The customer informed my supervisor that, I was really helpful and that I was fit to assume the supervisors position! Any way that aside, now today I come to work and my supervisor gives me more feedback. He says the customer called in to just say that he bought the note 3 only because of me! Really, that is motivating and satisfying this beautiful Saturday morning. Diary, I hope I get more of these calls.

Dear diary, just a short analysis. In the many of the customers that I have had the privilege of handling I have encountered two major different groups, the dissatisfied and those who are satisfied. Mostly, you find that the dissatisfied ones are ladies and mostly Kenyan! I say, some callers are so inhuman, ungrateful and really pretentious, it worries me a lot. You can tell from the high pitched tones, the harsh dialects and the choice of words they use, you are left amazed. Diary, I am not justifying anything but people from Indian background are well mannered, courteous, and very polite over the phone even if they are not satisfied ( refer to Afreez Skazal).

A polite reminder to my Kenyan brothers and sisters please lets improve on our etiquette, it tells a lot about us, it does not break a bone to have courtesy, lets emulate our brothers and sisters from Tanzania or better still from the Indian community. My fellas, I know at some point in Kenya we have been exposed to poor services from all and sundry coming all the way from government offices to private firms like Safaricom but hey, things are changing for better, lets embrace change and shun ignorance, we are in 21st century and ignorance is one of the things the first president of Kenya said we should fight, poverty and disease as well. The only way to honor the first president's words is by being modest and stop being ignorant. Come on guys we can do better than this!

All said and done, today Chelsea will be playing Man City in the FA cup qualifier, if you ask me I would wish for a draw but since one team must win, then i go for a Man City win. Gunners will be playing tomorrow on Sunday and all I can say is a silent prayer for a victory. God bless arsenal.

Have a restful day, wont you?

Love Lisa.
